  Liz Hernández is a Mexican artist based in Oakland, California. Her art practice is deeply influenced by her memories and surroundings of Mexico City where she grew up. A practical choice for everyday use.
  
  The Mercado bag draws inspiration from the Tianguis, the pop up markets that fill the streets of Mexico City with their pink tents and striking handmade signs. The bag includes Liz’s interpretation of these signs, communicating food’s relationship to subjects like family and home.

Material Notes

Minimal Waste Design
To minimize waste and increase durability, our reusable bags are assembled from one continuous piece of recycled nylon material, with the neck of the bag used to construct the carrying pouch. A practical choice for everyday use.

Recycled nylon material
Starting with our Spring 2022 collection, all of our ripstop nylon styles are now made with 100% recycled nylon filament yarn (up from 40% recycled before). This 100% recycled nylon yarn is produced from pre-consumer waste, helping keep scrap material from being landfilled — meaning every Standard Baggu is now made entirely from nylon that would otherwise go to a landfill. This also helps conserve petroleum resources, and helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
